Minister
We are currently seeking a new Minister to lead and serve our church family as we look forward to the next chapter in the life of our fellowship. We are praying for someone with a heart for sharing the gospel, encouraging discipleship and helping our church continue to grow in faith and service within our community.
If you feel God may be calling you to this opportunity, or if you would simply like to find out more about the role and our church, we would be delighted to hear from you. Email secretary@wab.org.uk

Kim Bames
Secretary & Treasurer
I started coming to Waltham Abbey with my husband Derek about 20 years ago. We felt welcomed and part of the family in no time and felt the Lord could use us here.
I am the secretary and support the treasurer role as well and try to keep activities for everyone running throughout the year. Always willing to try new things and enable as many people as possible to come and share with us – a lot of it is around food – Always a good theme!
I am a keen golfer and try to fit in as many games as I can
I think it’s key that as a family we are able to share in activities not only on a Sunday but during the week. We’re keen to get everyone involved in church life so if you feel you have a gift or skill that we could use in the church, please come and have a chat.

Carol Tarrier
Elder
I have lived and worked in Waltham Abbey for 28 years and have attended the Baptist church for the same time. I help with Cabbage Patch on Friday morning. I am also involved with the 3Food4U as there is a shop in Waltham Abbey.

Liz Ladlow
Deacon
I am married with 3 grown up children, all of whom came through WA Sunday School. I started coming to WABC when my eldest Stephanie was about 1 year old (she is 31 this year!), and we came to the Friday Mothers and Toddlers group ‘Cabbage Patch’. Since joining WABC I have been baptised and have helped out as a Sunday School Teacher for about 15 years and a Deacon for 10 years.
I am a Primary school teacher teaching at Hereward Primary in Loughton. I specialise in PE, a subject about which I am passionate. I also play sports, in particular netball and badminton. My hobbies include walking, reading and playing cards. I love to ski!
Since September 2019 I have taken the younger group of children aged from approximately 5 to 11 years of age. We read stories from The Bible and discuss with them. Most Sundays will include an activity! The youngsters are quite competitive and enjoy activities where teams are necessary! We are often involved in crafts etc. in the lead up to significant dates in the life of the church i.e. Christmas, Easter, Remembrance Day, Mothers Day and our Summer Holiday Club at which many of the youngsters come and help.

I have been married to Adrian for 18 years, having met at a Baptist church in Islington. I have two children aged 11 and 14 and seem to spend a lot of my ‘free’ time as an unpaid taxi service!
My Favourite verse is ‘Now, there are many other things that Jesus did, If they were all written down one by one, I suppose that the whole world could not hold the books that would be written down. John 21:25.

Jackie Kitchener
Deacon
I have been involved with Waltham Abbey Baptist Church since 2000, when I brought my three young children here to a holiday club which they enjoyed so much and wanted to stay.
Since then I have been actively involved in helping out with the Sunday School, church workdays and started up the Allsorts Club just after Covid, which brings people together of all ages, for friendship and activities.
My love of animals, dog rescue, worldwide travel, photography, and supporting wildlife and local communities within, and helping the older and more vulnerable people at home, have become a big part of my life, along with my husband children and grandchildren.
